What An Unbelievable Day – Sand Sculpture 2013

2013 Best of Show

The weather could not have been better (the high was 76 on the beach), the tide was -2.8, the winds were light and basically there could not have been better conditions. This year was one for the record books.  The most people showed up, not only to enter the 2013 Sand Sculpture, but also to just to watch, walk the beach and collect sand dollars in the low tide.  And this years “Best of Show” was a beautifully sculptured Mermaid, created by the Hartigen family.

However, the main event was, of course, the Sand Sculpture Contest, broadcast live with Praise 106.5 and KGMI Radio and was sponsored by Data-Link West as the Gold Sponsor, Praise 106.5 and Pooch Palace & Kitty Castle Dog & Cat Daycare/Grooming as Silver Sponsors and Oltman Insurance, Tutor Doctor, Carrie Beck-Take Shape 4 Life and Corion Landscape Managementare our Bronze Sponsors.  Please support them!

With over 60 entries, the competition was exciting for all four Categories – Individual, Business, Youth and Group, as well as Best of Show.  And, the winners are (Click on Image To See Full Size):
