The 36th Annual Discover Birch Bay Days & Crab Fest* is this weekend , Aug 29 & 30!
Come out and join us, rain or shine, for a fun weekend in Birch Bay.
The Weekend will kick off with a Parade down Birch Bay Drive at 12pm. This year a Discovery Dash will precede the parade, as contestants dash from Alderson Road to
the finish line in front of the Beach Park. The Parade will then commence from Alderson
Road to Harborview Road.

This year we are proud to announce that our Grand Marshall will be Ted Morris, our local Ranger at Birch Bay State Park. Ted is an outstanding member of the community and we are very happy to be able to honor him with this title. Some of the projects that Ted has been a instrumental part of are: 1982 Started the Birch Bay Clean Up Day that is held around Earth Day in April, 2001 Original member of the Birch Bay Steering Committee, 2003 Chaired the Steering Committee sub committee on Parks and Rec., 2003 Raised $600 from local businesses to implement six Doggie waste stations around the Bay; now there are about 14 and BBWARM takes care of them. Birch Bay Chamber Treasurer for two years, Participate in many stream restoration projects on Terrell Creek with Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association for 17 years, Re-established the NW Park and Recreation District #2 in 2006 from a 20 year hiatus. Chair of Commissioner for 8 years now Director, Worked towards getting a boat launch and Interpretive Center (Heron Center) at Birch Bay State Park. And is currently working on establishing a trail between Birch Bay and Blaine. Thanks Ted for being such a great member of your community!!

The Crab Derby is looking to be community favorite. We’re already seeing interest peaked in this new event. There are CASH prizes for the Biggest Catch, Monster Catch, and for the CASH Crabs. Please follow the link above for a flyer for more information.

The Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce will be providing a public crab boil for $10 a plate 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, with all the fixings or you can opt to bring your own crab, or cook your catch! You can buy a bag of the extras for your boil from us. We will have plenty of cooking pots and all you need to do is have fun! So walk on down, buoy up your boat (tides up at 6:00 pm) or drive down to the beach! COOK YOUR OWN OR BUY A $10 PLATE FROM US!

Ducky Derby Contestants are on sale NOW at the Visitor Information Center located at 7900 Birch Bay Drive 10am – 4pm Tuesday though Friday. We will also have a booth at the Event where you can sign up and get involved. Derby Ducks are $5 each with the proceeds going to help support Chamber Events for the Community in 2016.
