This years Wings Over Water brought people from all over the Northwest and both sides of the border including several members of the White Rock and Surrey Naturalists who said this was one of the best Wings Over Water ever!
The White Rock and Surrey Naturalists is holding a free seminar this coming Thursday, April 11th, at 7:30 PM entitled “Giant Pacific Octopus” presented by noted Marine Biologist James Cosgrove. An accomplished photographer and videographer he is able to bring his is able to bring amazing insights into this mysterious and fascinating underwater animal. Jim Cosgrove is also a co-authored a book on the Giant Pacific Octopus. The meeting will be held at the Sunnyside Community Hall, 1845-154th Street, Surrey, BC.
The Federation of BC Naturalists in their Winter 2012 edition of the BC Nature Magazine, published a fascinating and emotional article by James Cosgrove “No Mother Could Give More” where he and his wife describes the birthing of octopus and what the mother gives.
