Ace Hardware has re-opened in Blaine and they are holding an open house tonight to celebrate and they have invited the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce to join them from 5-8 PM. There will be vendor samples, refreshments and giveaways.
Blaine’s Ace Hardware is now part of Whatcom Farmers Co-op (WFC), which has operated in Whatcom County for more than 27 years. As such, Ace will stock everything from chicken feed and pet food, bagged mulch and compost, to pet beds, litter boxes, bird houses and wild bird seed. The store carries Craftsman hand and power tools along with DeWalt, Milwaukee and Ace brands. The extensive paint line includes Ace and Benjamin Moore brands. Items that are too large to carry in the store, such as fencing, gates and landscaping timber, are available by order.
“We want to achieve the same close relationship that WFC has with its customers,” store manager Ken Rose said. “It’s very much a family,” he said, adding, “the local roots are really, really strong.” A 20-year veteran of the hardware business, Rose said the store’s close ties to the WFC make this particular Ace Hardware unique.
Ace Hardware is located at 1733 H Street in the Blaine International Shopping Center. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, visit wfcoop.com or call 360/255-7206.
