It was a good day on Saturday for the BakerBirchBay.Com Discovery Days Parade and the first day for the vendors. KGMI carried the parade live on the radio with our own Mike Kent providing commentary along with the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce President John Gargett. The vendors were also busy, lots of people, great mixture of things for sale, and most of all, the Sun Was Shining Bright and Hot! Here are a few random pictures:
And don’t forget that today is the Ducky Derby!
The Ducky Derby is held at the mouth of Terrell Creek on Birch Bay Drive and all the ducks are now into their final summer training and look forward to the big race when nearly 350 competing ducks will jump from the Terrell Creek Bridge and race to the mouth to take home the 2012 Ducky Derby Title. We have some great prizes this year for the first 25 ducks across the line! (Click Here To See Pictures From The 2011 Ducky Derby)
It only costs $5.00 per duck and you do not need to be present to win. You can purchase your tickets in advance at the Bay Cafe, Peddle and Paddle, Birch Bay Waterslides, or at the Visitor Information Center.
